Walter C. Keenan has over 23 years of relevant industry experience. Before joining Advantage in 2012, Walter was president of JMP Capital LLC. He also served as executive chairman of Medicus Insurance Holdings, Inc., a specialty insurance company that provides liability coverage to physicians in more than 30 states and territories. Walter was a principal of the Cypress Group, where he was responsible for private equity investments in financial services companies.

Les Boughner joined Advantage July 1, 2015 as Chairman of Advantage Insurance Management (USA) LLC. Les is responsible for developing Advantage’s captive insurance and related businesses globally, including its direct underwriting activity at Lloyd’s reinsured by Advantage Property & Casualty Company SPC.

Les entered the insurance business in 1977. He held senior positions with FM Global, AIG, CNA, Zurich and Willis prior to joining Advantage. In his most recent role as Managing Director of Willis’ Global Captive Practice, Les was responsible for self insurance programs in the Americas with offices in Barbados, Vermont, Cayman, Bermuda and Hawaii. He holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada, and an MBA from York University, Toronto, Canada. A frequent contributor to the Alternative Risk Industry, he is past Chairman of the Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) and the Self Insurance Institute of America (SIIA).

Raul Camaliche joined Advantage International Bank Corp. in October 2017 as Operations Manager. Raul has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to joining Advantage, Raul was the Chief Operating Officer of Eastern National Bank in Miami, Florida. He has also served as Chief Information Officer of PineBank in Miami, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Hamilton Bank in Miami, Senior Vice President – IT Manager of Barclays Bank Latin America, and Vice President – Trust and Fiduciary system support at Chase Private Banking.

Raul earned his BBA from Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

Hugo Cordova

Hugo Cordova joined Advantage in March 2018 to serve as a Client Services Manager. Hugo is responsible for all aspects of our Life Insurance policy issuance as well as for client relationship management and business development in Puerto Rico. Hugo started his career at Banco Santander in Puerto Rico in the Management Trainee program. He worked in the Commercial Lending Department and as a Branch Manager. In 2010 he was hired by Aon to provide Insurance Management Services to international insurers in Puerto Rico.

Hugo is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He earned his BBA in Accounting from the University of Sacred Heart in Puerto Rico. He currently serves as the President of the Puerto Rico International Insurers Association.

Elljanna Dixon joined Advantage in 2015. She is responsible for the daily operations of the Cayman Islands office and sits as the Human Resources Officer for the Advantage offices in Puerto Rico and South Carolina.

Elljanna has 19 years of progressive experience directing cross-functional teams of technical experts, project management, regulatory compliance, and human resources within the financial sector. She has a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration. Elljanna has held key positions at Deloitte, Caledonian Global Financial Group and Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Ltd.

Elljanna was born in the UK and moved to the Cayman Islands in 1995 , where she has lived ever since.

Eduardo Colón is President of Advantage International Bank Corp., a newly-formed bank intended to serve the needs of specialty insurance companies and their private clients. Eduardo has over 30 years of experience with leading banking, securities and non-bank financial services companies. Prior to joining Advantage in 2015, Eduardo was the Chief Operating Officer of Citi International Financial Services, a broker dealer subsidiary of Citibank. He has also been First Vice President of Corporate Banking of SunTrust Bank; Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Head of Corporate and Commercial of Scotiabank Puerto Rico; President of BBVA Securities Puerto Rico; Senior Vice President and Head of Capital Markets and Trading of Santander Securities; and Vice President and General Manager of Chase Securities Puerto Rico. Eduardo earned his BBA from the University of Puerto Rico, Cum Laude and his MBA from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Liam Fleming joined Advantage in 2017 as Senior Manager, Client Services and is responsible for our captive insurance business in the Cayman Islands.

Liam has over 10 years’ experience in the captive insurance industry in Cayman having worked in Assurance Services with KPMG, Cayman Islands and two of the industry’s leading providers of captive management services prior to joining Advantage. Liam’s experience includes working with single parent health care captives, large reinsurance captives and both homogenous and heterogeneous group captives.

Liam is a qualified Chartered Accountant being a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland and a member of Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants.

Sandy Griffith joined Advantage in 2017 as a Senior Account Manager. Sandy has deep experience as an auditor of captive insurance companies. Her clients include single-parent captives, reciprocals, risk retention groups, cell structures, and 831(b) captives domiciled in several jurisdictions. Prior to joining Advantage, Sandy was a Managing Director at Crowe Horwath LLP (formally Saslow Lufkin & Buggy LLP) where she led audit teams for several captive insurers and she was responsible for office oversight. Sandy was formerly a Senior Audit Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP where she led their Northeast captive insurance practice and also managed the audits of captive insurers for many Fortune 100 clients. Sandy is a recognized captive insurance subject matter expert. She designs, implements and instructs certified training curriculums for the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA). Sandy has presented at the Vermont Captive Insurance Association and is a published author in industry captive insurance publications.

Sandy is a Certified Public Accountant (Vermont) and holds an accounting degree from Champlain College in Burlington, Vermont. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Vermont Captive Insurance Association.

Mary joined Advantage in October 2013 to serve as Director of Investor Relations.

Prior to joining Advantage Mary was a Director at Credit Suisse in Private Banking USA. She was Deputy Head of Fixed Income, a trader, and product specialist covering taxable fixed income products. Before working at Credit Suisse Mary spent 13 years with Morgan Stanley. At Morgan Stanley she held various positions in Private Wealth Management, Fixed Income, and Information Technology. She started her career at Lebenthal & Co.

Mary earned her BA in Political Science from the University of Southern California and holds an MBA in Management from Fordham University Graduate School of Business, where she was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Societies. She graduated Cum Laude from New York Law School with a Juris Doctor. She is an attorney at law licensed to practice in New York State.

Chuck Iroanyah joined Advantage in 2018 as a Client Services Manager. Chuck is responsible for administering Advantage’s life insurance business in Cayman. He also works on the new client onboarding team.

Chuck has worked in the financial services industry for over 16 years. Prior to Advantage he was a Fund Accounting Manager at State Street Canada for six years and a Manager in Fund Operations at Sentry Investments Inc. for eight years.

Chuck holds an undergraduate degree from Sheridan College where he specialized in Accounting. He is a CPA Candidate with the Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario, Canada.

Stuart Jessop joined Advantage in 2005 as a financial controller and today he is responsible for all life and business insurance underwriting functions. Stuart currently serves as our Chief Underwriting Officer. Prior to joining Advantage, Stuart worked at Coutts & Co. and at National Westminster Bank. He began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young.

Simon Kilpatrick is our Senior Vice President with responsibility for Business Insurance. He joined our predecessor company in 2003 and has been responsible for the growth of our U.S. captive management business. Prior to joining our predecessor company he was an investment manager with Coutts & Co.’s Cayman Islands branch, and also served as an investment officer with Bank of Bermuda Limited. Simon began his career in 1994 as a financial controller with Bank of Bermuda, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Christina Kindstedt joined Advantage as Senior Vice President in early 2017 after spending 14 years with Willis Towers Watson. She previously worked as a financial analyst at TD Bank before joining Willis. Christina has expertise in a broad spectrum of captive and alternative risk transfer mechanisms in many onshore and offshore domiciles. She manages client projects from initial conceptual discussion through the feasibility and implementation stages and subsequently is involved in operational management.

Christina has an undergraduate degree in Finance and she holds an MBA from University of Vermont. Christina serves on the Legislative Committee of the Vermont Captive Industry Association (VCIA) and the Governance Affairs Committee of National Risk Retention Association (NRRA.) She also serves on the Conference and Membership Committees of VCIA and NRRA. Christina is a frequent speaker at conferences hosted by VCIA, NRRA, Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA), Montana Captive Insurance Association (MCIA), the Physician Insurers Association of America (PIAA.) She is a published author of articles in industry journals such as Risk Retention Reporter, Inside Medical Liability, and Contemporary OB/GYN.

Christina’s diverse clientele includes Chinese companies due to her native fluency in the language.

Tamara K. Kravec is our Chief Financial Officer. Ms. Kravec has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry and a deep understanding of the insurance sector and its operating issues. Prior to joining Advantage, Ms. Kravec was the Founder and CEO of BWT Consulting, LLC, where she worked as a strategic advisor to insurance and investment management companies. From 2008 to 2016, Ms. Kravec was a Partner, Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst at NWQ Investment Management, LLC, where she was responsible for driving investment portfolio construction through research, analysis and idea generation in the global insurance, REIT and consumer discretionary sectors. From 2000 to 2008, Ms. Kravec worked at Banc of America Securities where she served as Director of Equity Research Management and subsequently held the position of Senior Equity Research Analyst responsible for covering the U.S. life insurance sector. While at Banc of America Securities, Ms. Kravec was ranked in The Wall Street Journal’s 2007 and 2008 “Best on the Street” Analysts Survey for stock picking. From 1997 to 2000, Ms. Kravec was an equity research analyst at Morgan Stanley covering the property-casualty and life insurance sectors. From 1992 to 1996, she was an equity research associate in the life insurance sector at Credit Suisse First Boston. Ms. Kravec holds an MBA degree from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.

Matt Lawson joined Advantage in 2014 and serves as our Chief Accounting Officer. Matt co-heads the Cayman office. Matt has over 15 years of financial experience and has spent 13 years working internationally. Prior to Advantage Matt was most recently Vice President and Group Controller of Endeavour Mining Corporation, an intermediate gold producer. He has also held positions in Bermuda at both RenaissanceRe Holdings Ltd. and at Ernst & Young LLP where he was an audit manager in their financial services practice. Matt is a Canadian Chartered Accountant and a US Certified Public Accountant (Illinois).

Eric Miller joined Advantage in 2015 and he serves as our Chief Information Officer. Eric is responsible for leadership, development, and implementation of all technology initiatives at Advantage. His areas of expertise include information system implementation, M&A due diligence, operational efficiencies, and outsourcing solutions. Eric has over thirty years of experience in the insurance and financial services industries. Prior to Advantage, Eric worked as a consultant to leading insurance, investment management, and banking institutions. Eric was Senior Vice President and CIO of the Erie Insurance Group. He also previously served as CIO of PRMS, a subsidiary of Allegheny Corporation. Eric earned an MBA from Suffolk University and a BS in Accounting with honors from the University of Massachusetts. Eric is a Certified Public Accountant (Massachusetts). He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

William Paré joined Advantage in January 2014 as our Financial Controller. Before joining Advantage, William worked in KPMG’s London office as a Senior Manager specializing in executive remuneration. Previously, William spent more than 10 years in offshore insurance in Bermuda with both Aon in captive insurance management and then later with KPMG’s worldwide professional indemnity insurance captive. William is a Canadian Chartered Accountant.

Mónica Pérez joined Advantage in April 2016 to serve as a Client Services Manager. She is responsible for all aspects of our Life Insurance policy issuance as well as for client relationship management in Puerto Rico. Mónica started her career at Goldman, Sachs & Co. in New York as an Operations Analyst. She worked with the Legal Aid Society of Puerto Rico and the Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) as part of a legal aid clinic while attending law school full time. Mónica is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the U. S. District Court for Puerto Rico. She is also a licensed notary public in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Mónica earned her BSBA in Finance from the University of Puerto Rico. She holds a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law.

Sherry Ricker joined Advantage in 2018 and serves as a Vice President. She is responsible for the day-to-day management of a portfolio of captives. Sherry’s responsibilities include acting as a liaison with regulators, shareholders, board of directors and other stakeholders; ensuring compliance with corporate governance and internal control standards; management and accuracy of captive financial activity, including annual audits, actuarial studies, tax filings, and integration of results in consolidated parent financial statements; and development of new and existing business relationships.

Sherry has over 15 years of captive experience. She held management positions at Willis Towers Watson and Marsh’s Captive Solutions Group. She worked as a Risk Finance Manager for ServiceMaster, and she has 8 years of public accounting experience. Sherry is a faculty member for International Center for Captive Insurance Education (“ICCIE”) and currently serves on their Board of Directors and finance committee.

Sherry is a Certified Public Accountant (Vermont) and a member of the Vermont Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She also holds the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Associate in Risk Management for Public Entities (ARM-P), and Associate in Captive Insurance (ACI) designations.

Yeissa Rodríguez joined Advantage International Bank Corp. in June 2018. Yeissa has more than 13 years of experience in the financial services industry.

She has expertise specifically related to BSA, AML, OFAC and regulatory compliance laws and regulations. Prior to joining Advantage Yeissa was the Compliance Officer of Interbank International Corporation. She was also the Compliance Officer of Caracas International Banking Corp., and she was Senior Compliance Analyst of RG Financial Corp. Yeissa earned her BBA from the University of Puerto Rico where she majored in Criminal Justice (Law and Society.) She is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). She holds an Identity Theft Investigator Certification as well as a Private Investigator Diploma.

Charla Smyser joined our predecessor company in 2004 as Manager of the Scottsdale Office and Senior Client Services Manager. Today she serves as Vice President in the US. Her responsibilities include managing captive insurance client business and the development of information systems for both the business and life insurance sides of the company. Charla has over 12 years of experience in the captive insurance industry and has published articles in The Captive Review. Charla earned a BSBA with a specialization in Accounting from the University of Nebraska. Charla is a Certified Public Accountant (Arizona), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and she has successfully attained the Associate of the Captive Industry (ACI) designation through the International Center for Captive Insurance Education. She began her career as an auditor at Arthur Anderson in 1998 where she specialized in both audit and non-audit assignments for clients in various industries.

Matt Watson joined Advantage in 2012 and serves as Vice President, Business Insurance. Matt forms and manages pure captives, segregated cell captives, 831b captives, and risk retention groups. He works with tax attorneys and client advisors to form captives in both onshore and offshore domiciles.

Matt has over 13 years of financial services related experience. Prior to Advantage Matt worked in corporate accounting for a Fortune 500 transportation company. He has also worked in public accounting. Matt serves on nonprofit boards in the Charleston, SC area including Charleston Animal Society where he is a VP, he is a co-founder of Families for Fertility, and he is President of ClemPAC. Matt is a Certified Public Accountant (South Carolina). Matt holds a BS Finance from Clemson University and an MBA from Kennesaw State University.
